Following the announcement of its plans back in May, SentronicsTM Limited will unveil its all-new range of FlowSonic® ultrasonic fuel flow sensors for motorsport at the 2014 Professional MotorSport World Expo held at the Kölnmesse exhibition centre from 13-15 November. The prestigious motor racing industry trade show will see Sentronics sharing stand 4138 with its sister sensor manufacturer, Reventec Ltd.

The FlowSonic® line has been specifically designed to help regulate peak engine power, balance performance, and promote energy efficiency in motorsport. Its second-generation technology represents a significant improvement over the sensor fielded in the FIA Formula 1 World ChampionshipTM and the FIA World Endurance ChampionshipTM during 2014, delivering superior accuracy and repeatability in a robust and affordable package.

The FlowSonic® is offered in three specifications – Elite, Super, and Pro – to suit the full spectrum of racing categories, from Formula 1 to Formula 4 and LMP1 to GT3, as well as touring and rally cars. All three models will be on display at PMW, with the Sentronics/Reventec team of Managing Director Neville Meech and engineers Jamie Jones and Jack Birmingham on hand to welcome enquiries from sporting authorities, series organisers, OEM engine suppliers, fuel companies, specialist race engine builders, and teams.

SentronicsTM is currently finalising a demo programme supplying FlowSonic® loan units to qualified prospects for testing during the coming off-season with a view to making the FlowSonic available for development use, pilot competition programmes, and full adoption as a regulatory device in 2015 and beyond. Interested parties are invited to visit PMW stand 4138 for more details.

Also being launched to coincide with PMW is the new SentronicsTM website, www.sentronics.com. In addition to finding information about the technology, features, and performance offered by the FlowSonic® range, site users will be able to download a comprehensive data sheet and CAD files. Those interested in the FlowSonic demo programme but unable to attend the expo can contact Sentronics via the website.

SentronicsTM kicked off its presence at PMW today at one of the show’s headline workshops, Racing in a Fuel Flow Formula, presented by Race Engine Technology magazine. Sentronics’ Neville Meech and Dan Partel, President of Sentronics partner company Hyspeed LLC, were among the participants in a panel discussion, followed by a presentation from Partel entitled Racing With Fuel Flow Control: The Promoter’s Perspective. Other luminaries in attendance included Audi Sport’s Head of Engine Development, Ulrich Baretzky; Andrew Cowell, Managing Director of Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains; former head of F1 engine design at Ferrari, Gilles Simon; and Andrew Burston of Calibra Technology, with David Wood as moderator.
